Japan

In February 2020 I visited my brother who is studying in Japan. Together we explored the nature and wildlife of the snow-covered island of Hokkaido. Although we had a very tight travel plan with many locations and only little time at each site, I’m glad we managed to see and photograph most of the iconic species. Observing Steller’s sea eagles, red-crowned cranes, ezo red foxes and whooper swans near hot springs, were unforgettable experiences and I feel even happier, that I could share those experiences with my little brother. A couple days in Kyoto on the main island, enabled me to see Japanese macaques, better known as snow monkeys, as well as bamboo forests too.
